BlueStacks app player is one of the most used android emulator for computer. This little piece of software allows you to download, install and run android applications on your Windows and Mac PC. Not getting into details about the software (refer to this dummy’s guide on BlueStacks), we will straight jump to installation errors and problems.
BlueStacks is ultimately a software (an emulator) which needs to perform some heavy tasks (like installing mobile apps on computer). Just like any other software, BlueStacks has some issues and bugs. It is currently in its early stages, so it may take some time to evolve and become more stable (and easy to use). BlueStacks has its own set of limitations and system requirements. However considering the tasks it has to perform, BlueStacks is in good shape and with simple tricks you will get past all the errors. Just follow some workaround (update a few little things here and there) and you are all set to use BlueStacks – get access to millions of amazing android apps straight onto your computer.
Coming back to system requirements (the computer configuration you are using), BlueStacks runs smoothly on a system with 2GB of RAM. A lot of people get confused over this and keep asking us various questions on it. Its the RAM requirement and not your hard disk space.
  • RAM is different from your Hard Disk Space
  • Your computer may be having 100′s of GB of hard disk, however you need to check your RAM
  • RAM should be minimum 2GB – else BlueStacks will either not install or give issues when running
  • Check your RAM (Windows PC) – Go to my computers – right click – check properties – system configuration – Installed Memory (RAM)
  • Solution: Upgrade your RAM (its cheap)

BlueStacks Graphic Error’s

One of the very common problem (or we should say a very common error) with BlueStacks is related to Graphic Cards and Drivers. If you Google “BlueStacks Graphic Errors“, you will get to many results – so many different types of error’s. Graphics Card Issues are very common with BlueStacks, that I thought to write a separate article on this.
If you are facing any problem (other than Graphic Card), then please refer toBlueStacks FAQ – All issues resolved
What I have done is compiled a list of BlueStacks Graphic Card Error’s and their solution. I hope this helps many of our readers.

Error 25000 Bluestack Doesn’t Recognize Your Graphics Driver

This is a very common which lot of people have complained about. BlueStacks require your computer to have a graphic card and RAM of about 2GB. If it fails to find a graphic card then it issues this error message. If you have a very old PC it might not have the graphics card that can run OpenGL and thus Android won’t run on it. Now the problem is your computer may be having a graphic card, however its drivers are outdated.
Bluesacks is Not able to recognize your graphic card and what you need to do is update your Graphic Card (Display) drivers.
Bluestacks graphic Error
Below are some of the solutions (which you need to try to get rid of this Error 25000 in BlueStacks) -:
1. Try to update your Driver Display Adapter
  • Go to “My Computer”
  • Select Manage
  • Select Device Manager
  • Locate Display Adapter
  • Select your Adapter
  • Right click
  • Update Driver Software
If it still does not work, then
Seems you are not able to update the drivers automatically. We will have to update these drivers manually. For Windows 7 or Windows 8 – The default drivers which comes with Windows computer (may not be updated). You will need to get the latest drivers for your graphic card (check model number of your motherboard). Google for latest driver. Please note that the issue will get resolved when you install the latest video drivers (display drivers) for your system.
Check the make of your graphic card. Go to control panel and open device manager. After that, you will see all the installed hardware on your PC. Look for display adapters and double click on it, then your current graphic card name will appear.

Once you know the model of your Graphic card, follow the below links to download the new drivers. Install these.

Connect your laptop or netbook to its charger and then try to install Bluestacks. This is because when on Battery mode, some laptop settings change graphics to low. This may cause issue with BlueStacks.

BlueStacks Error 25001

Installation stopped – Error 25001
The following application must be closed before continuing the uninstall : Google Chrome
  1. Download the offline BlueStacks installer file (this file ends with extension .msi). For example : BlueStacks_HD_AppPlayerPro_setup_0.7.17.916_REL.msi
  2. Download a tool named Ocra (its a editor by Microsoft itself). Download Link
    1. Orca.exe is a database table editor for creating and editing Windows Installer packages and merge modules. The tool provides a graphical interface for validation, highlighting the particular entries where validation errors or warnings occur.
  3. Install this application called Ocra on your computer. Assuming you are either using Windows 7 or Windows XP SP2
  4. Once Ocra is installed, right click on your BlueStacks MSI File and click “edit with Ocra”
  5. A new Orca window appear

  8. Save the file from the file menu
  9. Now Run saved MSI, it will works like charm.
  10. Enjoy and have fun.

Invalid Signature Issue

BlueStacks Digital Signature Issue
  • Follow the above steps of Error 25001 (till step number 6)
  • Scroll the Tables to InstallExecuteSequence
  • Delete CheckMsiSignature

Editing MSI File

What we are doing is editing some checks in the installer file itself – so BlueStacks won’t check for these Graphic Card, Signature etc.. This should solve your installation issue, however it is not sure that BlueStacks will work smoothly (that depends on your computer configuration).
